Mini Magnolia Birthday Card

Good afternoon!  Today I'd like to share a recent birthday card I made using some super cute mini Magnolia stamps of the Jubilee Collection.  Aren't they just adorable?  The papers are from Maja Design and the 15 was hand cut and added to the stitche circle die cut with 3D foam pads.

All of the images were painted with Distress Inks with white gel pen for the dots on their cheeks and eyes.  The first one holding a birthday cake I paired with the birthday cake image, also painted with Distress Inks.

I kept to the same colour scheme for all of the images, Frayed Burlap and Old Paper for the cream colours and Victorian Velvet for the pinks.

I just had to add some sparkle to the last image by adding some Stardust Stickles to her balloons.  I then added some faux stitching on the card base to match that on the circle die cut using a silver gel pen.

I hope you like it and thanks for looking!

A Forgotten Christmas Card

Good afternoon and Happy New Year!  I found some photos of another Christmas card I haven't shared with you.  The cute Edwin and reindeer is from the December Pop Up Box and the bauble, stars and tinsel dies are from Doohickey Volume 36.

As always I have painted Edwin with Distress Inks using the no lines technique.  I have added some Stardust Stickles to the tassle on his hat but it is not showing up very well in the photo.

The backing papers and the paper for the patterned bauble are from Maja Design.

I hope you like it and thanks for looking!  I'll be back soon with a birthday card I am in the middle of creating.

2022 Reflection

Good evening!  When I looked back at my blog this year I realised that last New Year's Eve I didn't even do a reflection post as I usually do.  It has definitely been a strange few years.  When I look back I have made a considerable amount that has been posted on account only places which haven't been blogged here.  That being said, I definitely have not crafted anywhere near as much as I would have liked to this year for one reason or another.  Hopefully that will change and I will be able to blog more regularly in 2023.  I don't even have a creation for each month of the year, but here are my favourite creations from the months that I do have:

December

These cute nutcracker cards made with Tim Holtz dies were definitely my favourite Christmas cards this year.  I'm sure Harvey is going to be featuring on lots of male cards throughout the coming year too.  I already have several ideas for him.

November

Although I only blogged this the other day I made it in November so I'm using it for my November choice!  I will definitely be on the lookout for more quirky designs like these from Magnolia Ink Market next year!

October

It has definitely been a year for more simplistic styles from me.  I loved creating the background for this Halloween card using Magnolia stamps and dies.

August

I'm not even sure if I blogged this one!  This was the card I made for my son's eighteenth birthday.  Again a simple style but I do love the way it turned out.

July

Another cute card with Magnolia dies for July's choice.  These dies are also from Magnolia Ink Market and the papers are by Maja Design.

March

I have been so terrible at blogging my creations this year!  This is the Mother's Day card I made this year using Magnolia Doohickey dies from Volume 31.  I didn't just leave the sentiment at 'Happy', it does say Mother's Day inside lol!

February

Another card I don't think I blogged.   This one was for my daughter and again used the gorgeous dies from Doohickey Volume 31.  That sentiment and the numbers are so versatile!  I cut strips of card in pastel rainbow colours to show behind the negative of the die for this one.  I do love using die negatives as well as the die cuts themselves.

I hope you've enjoyed my little look back at 2022.  I wish you a Happy New Year and hope you have a wonderful evening of celebrations to see in the New Year!

Sardines Birthday Card

Good morning!  I hope you had a wondeful Christmas with family and friends.  Today I am back to show you a birthday card I made recently.  I found the photos when I was editing my Christmas card photos and realised I had forgotten to blog it!  I love this sardines set.  The dies and stamps are available separately from Magnolia Ink Market.

I stamped the tin and sardines with black Archival ink.  I have then rubbed silver and black shimmer waxes onto the sardines to give them a realistic silver look.  The key was also covered with silver wax.  The tiles background was stamped with Speckled Egg Distress Oxide Ink.  So far it is the only Distress Oxide colour I have but I am definitely getting some more.  I love the chalky look it has!

Here's a close look at the sardines.  I used different thicknesses of 3D pads to layer them in the tin.

I hope you like it and thanks for looking!

Nutcracker Christmas Cards

Good morning!  Are you all ready for the big day tomorrow?  I will be spending most of today in the kitchen baking and roasting lots of delicious food for tomorrow and Boxing Day.  This morning I'd like to show you my final pair of Christmas cards.  I have used the Tim Holtz Layered Plaid and Harvey Colorize Sizzix die sets again on these.  A very different look from yesterday's cards though.  I have added in some Doohickey Snowflakes and rocking horse and bells dies from Magnolia.

For my daughter's card Harvey is dressed all in pink and white and I have used Rose Gold glitter card for his trims, the tartan and the bells.  The papers are Maja Design.

My son's card is exactly the same design but in silver and blue.  The papers are Maja Design and I have used silver glitter card for the trims, tartan and bells.

Notice today's nutcrackers feature a different coat design?  I have added the white cross shoulder belt to their coats!

I hope you like them and thanks for looking.  I wish you all a very Merry Christmas!

Tartan Nutcracker Christmas Cards

Good afternoon!  Something a little different from me this afternoon.  Two Christmas cards created using Tim Holtz' stunning new Sizzix dies: Harvey Colorize and Layered Plaid.  I am in love with both of these die sets.

Both cards feature one style of Harvey soldier.  This die set enables you to create different style soldiers and nutcrackerz as you can choose different coat and trim options.  So cute!  I have used lots of glitter card for the trim elements for that added Christmas sparkle.  The papers are Maja Design and the gold card on the tartan is from my stash.

The second card features an identical Harvey teamed with different Maja Design papers and glitter cardstock on the tartan.

I hope you like them and thanks for looking!

Hot Chocolate Christmas Card

Good morning!  Another Christmas Card to share today, featuring the gorgeous Tilda from the Hot Cocoa with Marshmallows Pop Up Box.  I just love her cardigan, it is so cute!  I have used the Chestnuts Roasting background sentiment from Magnolia Ink Market behind Tilda.  I masked Tilda after painting her and then stamped the background.

As always, I. have painted Tilda using the no lines technique and Distress Inks.  The paper is from Maja Design and I have used some white acrylic paint on the edges.

I hope you like it and thanks for looking!
